1)Gujarat Government has partnered with a top India-centric American advocacy group for the 9th edition of ‘Vibrant Gujarat’, the annual industry summit, which will be held from 18th to 20th January 2019 in Gandhinagar, Gujarat.
2)According to a report by the UN World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO), international tourism hits a record high of 1,323 million international tourist arrivals across the globe in 2017.India leads the chart of growth in the South Asian region with a total of 15.54 million in 2017.
3)Japan’s young swimmer Rikako Ikee was named the Indonesia Asian Games’ Most Valuable Player (MVP) after winning six gold and two silver medals. She received $50,000 in prize money.
The teenager is the first female winner of the award, which has been presented at every Games since the 1998 edition in Bangkok.

4)Justice Tahira Safdar was sworn in as the first woman chief justice in Pakistan‘s Balochistan High Court.
5)The Indian Banks Association (IBA) has elected Punjab National Bank’s managing director and chief executive, Sunil Mehta, as the new chairman for 2018-19.
6)India achieved its highest ever medal tally at the Asian Games.India won a total of 69 medals which comprises: 15 gold, 24 silver and 30 bronze medals, and ranked 8th in the medals tally. China finished on top of the medal tally with 289 medals.
